Release What You've Locked Away In Pandora's Box And Be Well Once Again!

It's time to release what you've locked away in Pandora's Box. It doesn't serve you! Stuck feelings create illness and disease!
In our lives, we may experience emotions that are just too painful to bear, so our first reaction is to just stuff them down thinking you'll deal with that later. Choosing not to feel your emotions and putting your feelings in the proverbial Pandora box will most certainly allow them to stagnate there and then burrow deeply in your physical body. Much like energy within the body, emotions are meant to be fluid and free-flowing, so as not to create illness or disease in your physical form.
There really are no good or bad emotions. There are just emotions. And they are there to teach you something that will help you grow in your life. We are meant to feel them and then release them. Dealing with your emotions will most certainly alter the way you experience the world in a very positive way.
Remember that you are fully in charge of your physical illness along with your wellness. Begin to deal with each of those emotions that you've locked away deep down within. There are many ways to deal with past emotions and we all release differently. Just a few of the ways that I've found most helpful in releasing these stuck emotions would be through meditation, journaling, and Reiki. If you need help with any of these in order to begin to release and heal, I'm available to help you.
Open Pandora's box today! Release those emotions, and take control of your body, your mind, your health and your entire life once again. Your worth it!
Nicole Lawler will show you different healing modalities for your mind, body, & spirit. At the end of the day, it's all about loving and healing YOU!

When You Have It All - Then What?

Acceptance Truth Joy Peace
I was directed to take a break and listen to my heart's desire and sense of what it needs to be free. Without acceptance to break free, I would never know.
It was about the 'me time' to PAUSE and listen quietly to my truth.
Now I am off PAUSE, after attending a spiritual retreat where I focused on opening my heart greater to our divine source. I came home fully alive and inspired and pulled out one of my 'life purpose' cards and then this question came so unexpectedly and without reason. At least I thought (!)
What do I truly desire?
Well, I had to think about this and hard. I felt I had done enough decision making and taking inspired action to raise the bar for myself. In doing so, I could have the freedom to travel and work from anywhere I please. However, it wasn't the answer!
What transpired, my reason for going in to business was to have financial freedom and more choice. Guess What(!) My answer was Nope(!)
This didn't sit well either. I have the penthouse, travel overseas twice a year, cruise the Mediterranean, drive a BMW, earn a great income, and YET felt at a loss to what my answer could be.
What most aspire has appeared into m life. Still, there was a missing piece. May I was missing an internal balance? For instance, is my path of seeking greater joy and happiness it? Maybe? And if so, how do I do this let alone? Explain this? How is happiness communicated the experience is different for everyone one of us?
How do we find happiness?

For anyone who has not experienced the greatest joy happiness -- the lightness and calm, where does one start?
How does one gain that internal trust -- a knowing without doubt or glimmer of disbelief?

Our lives are so ingrained with taking actions securely mapped out trying to manifest what we believe is necessary to live a happy fulfilled life. In essence, what happen we try to control every moment out of safety borne out of our ego.
Questing happiness, the busy-ness is where we become lost. Uncertainty is where we begin to question.

Is this all there is?

There comes a time where the soul needs to shut out the noise and listen to the quiet with acceptance. It is here where the Divine can give us its best guidance to experience joy and calmness. It is a process of letting go of the voices in our heads. To surrender (the vulnerability that most of us avoid) with total acceptance.
Here are three principles to assist in surrendering and quieting the mind.
-Awareness begins with knowing yourself - it requires a deep search into who you are and what you have to offer. It progresses through a deepening sense of appreciation, respect, and gratitude for YOU.
-Acknowledgement that it whatever is shown that it is okay(!) It is always okay without judgement or scrutiny.
-Acceptance of who you are with respect and gratitude - by accepting the anguish and vulnerability - only then can we offer a gift that is both accepted and appreciated.
When this happens all conflict will fall away in every decision, each thought, each activity... where you longer are making decisions from an ego place that keeps us separate. Instead, everything begins with and ends here. Doubt is no longer a part or a choice. One becomes one's truth. You become aligned and your truth is centered. It is here you will find your answers.
This has been difficult for me because the answers are not always the ones I want to hear. They are meant to be heard. With acceptance and surrendering - truth will be heard. And in this there is truth, joy and happiness.

How Has The Idea Of The Inner Child Been Misunderstood In Spiritual Circles

We hear so much about the Inner Child in spiritual circles. At the same time, there is also a lot of confusion about what the inner child is all about. Some think the inner child is the wise one within our consciousness, some think it is our soul or spiritual self.
But the inner child is not any of that. It is, in fact, an aspect of our psychological self and it can also represent the archetype of the innocent one.
If we see the world through the eyes of the inner child, we will see the world through the lens of innocence, with childlike wonder.
Wouldn't you agree that sometimes it is so important to be able to view the world with childlike wonder? This gives us an opportunity to see the world and other people without any judgement. And especially so during this Christmas season?
When we see the world through the eyes of the inner child we often see the good sides. We see the good aspects because a child is very innocent and has no judgement.
The problem with that is if we do not have the wisdom, then we will be able to discern what is negative and positive, and we will only see things from a too positive viewpoint without being in touch with reality We may endanger ourselves, by not being able to see the negative intentions of people, or be blind even to our own false parts of self. In this sense, our imbalanced inner child can lead us astray.
Now, you can say that there are negative and positive aspects of the inner child. On one hand we are able to see the good perspective and we are able to see the world with childlike wonder but on the other hand, we can be too naïve.
So, to work with the inner child, we need to understand that for the inner child within our own psyche to work to our advantage we must always integrate the wise archetype. The wise one archetype must work alongside the inner child archetype in order to keep us in balance.
Now there is this belief within new age/spiritual circles where people think that the inner child is one's soul and that we should always be listening to the inner child because it is our intuitive promptings. The problem with this is that if one doesn't understand the workings of the inner child or think this aspect of self is filled with wisdom - what happens if your inner child is actually a spoilt brat? Then by listening to the promptings of your spoilt brat, you could very well be led astray!
So the question now is: how to identify and understand the inner child? This is something that I learned from my mentor a long time ago - there is a process called Inner Child Dialoguing. The dialogue process is a very simple one.
You are simply having an imaginary conversation with a child on paper (or on your computer). Find some quiet time to do this. This conversation is between you and the inner child. For example, if I were to have this conversation with my inner child, I would allow this conversation to be a free-flowing one, without any censorship, simply allowing the dialogue to flow.
Shamala: Hello! This is Shamala, and I would like to invite my inner child to have a conversation with me. How are you doing today my dear inner child?
Inner child: Oh I'm having a horrible day, you are such a bad person, you are such a bad parent to me, you did not pay attention to me, you did not give me rest yesterday, you work so hard.
The above conversation shows me what I need to pay attention to. Through these conversations, you will get an idea which inner child is speaking to you, it could be the spoilt brat one day, the weak one another day. Or it could be is a fearful one.
The aim is to keep the inner child balanced, happy and loved. The adult inner voice must parent the inner child effectively to keep her balanced. She must feel loved, secured and at the same time, the adult must also parent her, as you would a real child. To add to this, there is also the voice of the inner parent which can also be critical or weak. So a dialogue process can also be set up to find out how your inner parent works!
These dialogue processes are essentially investigative in nature. You want to know exactly what is going on inside you. So maybe you are going through some relationship challenges and you want to know exactly what the inner child is experiencing or what the inner parent is thinking. This is really quite an effective journaling process.
I personally coach my clients on this process and I also do have a few slots for email coaching on how to journal using investigative dialoguing process. Drop me an email for more information.
Despite what people believe, or don't want to believe for that matter, we all have split personalities and they all surface at different times. So you might have noticed this about yourself - If you were to go home, to your family home during the festive season, you will find that you function and operate quite differently as you would in the office or with your friends. These are different aspects of us would surface in different situations and different circumstances.
Now if we don't know how all of these personalities are behaving then how are we going to know ourselves? Without knowing there is no way to grow. Self-awareness is key and from awareness, you will know what kind of actions to take in order for you to evolve and in order for you to take the next step of your development.
Without a proper structure, it is harder to grow. Too many spiritual people say 'all I need to do is just meditate and I will grow'. No, that's not true. You need to really understand yourself and the only way you can understand yourself is through self-reflection.
Now I hope that this information I have shared with you is going to serve you well in your further development. I share this article so that you do not make the mistake that many on the path of personal development are making. Namaste!
My clients call me the chiropractor for the soul because it is what I do best. I align my clients with their body, mind and soul. The end game - to live more purposeful lives. I have a deep love for psychology, all things spiritual and non-religious.  Shamala Tan

Challenges of Walking Alone

Possibilities and Despair
With so much going on around us it is difficult to stop. We must keep up the pace to stay in front. These challenges our dealt with the consistent voice of our ego to press on.
As such, we consistently seek to keep up with the Jones', comparing ourselves to what is outside of us. And at these moments in time we often experience frustration, exhaustion and hopelessness. We just can't get past go(!)
Certainly, at one time or another we have these experience. One step forward and one step back. Trudging through life with days of exhilaration and then despair. Moving through these challenges of each day where on day we feel elated to downright miserable.
There is always light inside these darker days. Staying in the dark is often easier - less challenging - than acceptance. Even in those lost moments, there is still hope. There are still possibilities and chances to access answers to those pressing questions.
Where will we feel motivation to move on and experience the enthusiasm once again?
Perhaps in this greatest pain - there is no reason and to only image the lack of what you cannot see.
Challenges We Face
Confidence and assertion is part of this and can help us to improve. However, some people are getting too far into the old ways of dealing with challenges and end up being arrogant pushing with tactics that do not serve.
Getting stuff off our chests lighten the heaviness of troubles. But, even if we have lost the initiative during the path to success, do not feel that you have already lost all hope.
Walking Alone
Awakening to inner wisdom has been described as a feast, an encounter with a teacher, opening up a new gate into a new world meeting the direct sight of your true self.
We are not here just to live an ordinary life, pay bills and then leave this great planet. We are here to experience a higher purpose, to find our inner wisdom. Liberation is where we can grow and learn. to create the good things around us and to gather knowledge and experience life. And at the same time experience and learn from the mis-takes or failures in life.
You may lose one battle, but you can still win the war. With an attitude of hope, sooner or later, you will get back on the saddle and be the person that you have always wanted to be.
Remember you are not walking your path alone.
Take time to reflect and know yourself; to figure it out what you really want, what makes you happy and fulfilled, and what calms you down at the end of the day.
Ask the questions, quite the mind and listen to the answers.

Is the Past Holding You Back?

Sense of Self
When you really sink into an idea, there is possibility. There is potentially danger where most of us run on autopilot and not being present. We keep going through our days operating on the patterns of the past. And often most hard not to resist.
Move away from inefficient, un-resourceful patterns getting in your way. This is what stops us from taking opportunities that show up.
What are you telling yourself?
Typically, we run over these inner voices and push through with our will. Not always practical(!)
Choose how you relate to these messages. What is the feeling? Good - Bad? You're the key to breaking this cycle. Ignoring our inner voices - intuition if you will. permeates unconsciously often sabotaging any success in the outcome.
Familiar?
Have you ever tried to get a project completed. You try for three months and it still sits within - no movement. So, there is choice. A direction to move forward and work out or keep the brake on.
Experience tells us we are holding on to a secondary gain. In this instance, worry, anxiety and fear. Sometimes it is more comfortable as it is a known feeling. The project then stales, against fears or failure from the past.
Can you do this?
The key is to take each situation at a time and use some mental discipline. The experience from the past repeats itself. It is really gone only having its survival in the mind. How are you relating to those experiences - lessons learned or not?
Learn from the wisdom of the past so you can take what you can. Move it and pave it forward.
History does not have to repeat itself.
You have choice!
♥Look at what is facing you right now what you want to accomplish.
♥Decide how you will make it work?
♥Is worry going to take over - for fear of humiliation and failure if this doesn't work?
There is always the potential of everything going wrong-- should I --could I do that--- destroy the potential of what could happen. Do some different(!).
Don't let the past hold you
When we charge towards a goal all stops to create a project drive us. There is a strong desire and intent to achieve a result. But every so often we will hit a roadblock
Embrace You and add on a layer of wisdom and intuition; learning; skills; attitudes; perspective.
Look at a project or goal say to yourself this is an opportunity. Do you want this opportunity; what do you love about this new opportunity?
Presence
Your relationship is to look at a situation as an opportunity understanding clearly there is opportunity. Look with a grander sense of self.
Try on a new way of doing things; your life's career, relationship, fun, recreation, spiritual drive.
Go beyond a sense of self limitation and self-determined limiting beliefs. These really strangle and destroy our sense of wonder and risk taking and doing something in a way that other did not expect of us.
Sometimes learning lessons is a way forward. We would never know the difference otherwise.
Opportunities
These are the opportunities within us to pave it forward. You are in a new position of accepting the challenges or go into a downward spiral of worry. Find the value in taking on the perspective of looking through the lens of opportunity
Opportunities are the doorway swinging us into new behaviors, new experience and new attitude. Trial and error is how we learn. The permission to experience the error.
Step into the opportunity.
As painful as things are when we can detach and re-evaluate, a new view is taken. Eventually you will find the gifts the challenge has afforded you. When you can detach you will see the gift in the wings
Is it exciting or not? If you look at the worry of its success, it will drain you. Ask if this is how you want to feel. Opt out of worry and move forward. Simple? May not! With persistence possibly.

Living the Legacy You Hope to Leave Behind Part Three

You may not realize it but your life has been influenced by or benefited from the lives of those who have gone before you; your parents, grandparents, great grandparents. They have brought you to this station in your life.
Everything that happens to us trickles down in some way and affects the lives of our descendants. Each of us is a byproduct of all the ancestors that preceded us. They have left us the reality we currently live in. Their values and achievements affect our lives in ways we may not even realize.
If your life is not written down or recorded in some way, the memory of who you are will fade with the years. You do not have to write a book to document your life. Many people are not motivated or are unable to do that. But everyone can keep a diary or journal. We can all video or audio record aspects of ourselves that we want to share and live on. How exciting would it be to suddenly discover the diary of a long-deceased relative? Wouldn't it be fascinating to hear how life was in those days?
We want to be remembered for how we lived, not how we died. We want to share the gifts we have with others while our eyes are open. We want to leave this Earth with no grudges or regrets. We must live every day as if it is our last, because it very well could be.
In the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Author Stephen Covey gives an exercise that involves writing our own eulogy. He says when planning our legacies we should think about our lives with the end in mind, not out of morbidity but to give us a clear focus of how we want our lives to turn out. The eulogy is to be written from the perspective of four speakers; a family member, a co-worker, a member of your house of worship, and a friend. We are to ask ourselves what these people would say about us if we died today.
These eulogies become mission statements that help us define the legacy we hope to leave. They help us determine where we are now and where we need to go to reach our destination. Covey says that our mind creates a thought first and then a physical action follows. So thinking about the end helps us to manifest the things we want.
There are no guarantees that your legacy will live on exactly as you hope it will. Some people feel more comfortable pre-arranging a plan of action for the legacy they want to leave. That method will boost the probability that their wishes will be fulfilled. If there is money, property, custody issues, or other assets involved that is advisable. But you do not have to have material assets or even a plan to leave a legacy.
Be the kind of person you want others to remember. Be a giver not a taker. Keep your outlook on the brighter side of life. Be grateful for everything that comes to you. Take the good with the bad. Be honest and true in all your dealings. Be courageous and faithful. Be kind and understanding. Inspire others with the way you live your life.
Love your family enough to plan ahead for the day when you will no longer be here. Tie up all your loose ends so your family is not left with a complicated mess to clean up after you are gone. If you have children or close relatives and don't have a will it is wise to have one drawn up. Make your wishes known. Families divide and fall apart when there is a death and the deceased did not make his or her wishes clear.
Evaluate the way you live your life and the memories you hope to leave behind. Touch as many lives as you can. Leave an imprint you can be proud of. Be aware, live consciously, and act deliberately. Make it a priority to begin living your legacy today. Tomorrow cannot wait-it may never come.
Author Shannon Alder summed this all up perfectly when she wrote, "Regrets are the last words you speak to your loved ones when you die and the one thing we all fear when we live. I'd rather regret the things I've done and said than regret the things I haven't done or said. It is all the experiences and people you missed out on in life that you will feel the most regretful for in the end. God will forgive you of your mistakes, but there is nothing to forgive if you have never even tried, done or said anything that made a difference in your life or others."
Make living your legacy a priority today.Don't wait until tomorrow. It may never come.

Living the Legacy You Hope to Leave Behind Part One

Have you ever asked yourself what your ultimate purpose is; what you are supposed to add to this world and what imprint you will leave on it? Are you living the legacy you hope to leave behind?
Author Ray Bradbury wrote in his book Fahrenheit 451, "Everyone must leave something behind when he dies. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die. It doesn't matter what you do, so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that's like you after you take your hands away."
Each of us will leave a legacy behind after we pass on; that is a given. It doesn't matter how young or old we are; we never know when our days are up. Would you be proud of the legacy you left behind if your life ended today?
We should each aspire to live our lives every day in ways that cast a positive light on us. Furthermore our lives should set an example that others who follow after us will benefit from.
In essence, living a legacy requires consideration for tomorrow. That does not mean living for the future. To focus on our legacies we must certainly consider future outcomes. But living our legacies means making each moment count, living each moment with intention.
An intention is a course of action, physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, that one intends to follow. It is an objective or vision that guides our thoughts, attitudes, and choices. We send our intentions out in the form of a thought but we must fulfill their destination with our deliberate actions. This is important because you are building your legacy every day, whether by intention or not.
A life that just happens does not inspire anyone. No one will remember it. So the most important question to ask ourselves when planning our legacy is, "In what light do I want to be remembered. Will others see my life as having been lived to the fullest, or will they see it as a life of someone who just got by?"
Ultimately we have no control over how others will remember us, but we certainly can influence it. To do that we must have a direction-we must identify what we want to contribute and achieve while we are here.
Whatever we achieve in life, the knowledge we acquire, and the challenges we rise above, gets passed down through the generations that follow after us. Our words and actions become ripples in the sea of time. They will impact the lives of our family, friends, and community, and continue to carry on long after we are gone. The legacy of our lives will impact the lives of those we hold dearest-our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and future generations. Our words and actions of today influence the way we will be remembered tomorrow. What stories and memories will you leave behind?
Everyone will be remembered for something. We all hope to be remembered in a positive light. That memory is influenced by the way we live our day-to-day life, by our attitudes, outlooks, values, and convictions. It is better to be remembered as an optimistic person than a pessimistic person. It is better to be remembered for our inner strength than for our weakness. It is better to be remembered as a faithful person than one who is faithless. And it is better to be remembered as one who is kind than one who is hostile.
Are you living a life of intention or do you merely exist? Are you living the life that is best suited for you and your uniqueness or are you living the life that others want you to live? Are you following your heart or following the crowd?
What kind of legacy do you envision for yourself? Do you hope to leave a legacy of love?
If so there are many ways for you to do that. You can be a loyal, true person who supports and celebrates the successes of others. You can treat others with compassion, and kindness. You can love deeply and unconditionally. You can teach others to fight for what they believe in. You can advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. You can be charitable. You can be accepting and forgiving. You can nurture and respect all creation; the Earth, animals, and the family of mankind. You can love life. You can spread light. You can love yourself. And you can allow others to love you.
Perhaps the legacy you want to leave is one of purpose.
Leaving a legacy of purpose requires living for purposes greater than our selves. To live for purpose we must positively impact the world while we are here as well as long after we are gone. We can do that through the generosity of our time and service or through financial endowments. Some people donate money while they are alive. Some bequest their estates to charities, religious institutions, or scholarship funds after they pass on. But one does not have to have money to leave a legacy of purpose. For most people it is the work they do in life that leaves a legacy of purpose, whether for individuals, a business, a foundation, a non-profit organization, school, or religious institutions.
You may hope to leave a legacy of excellence or inspiration.
You can accomplish this by pursuing excellence in something or everything to inspire excellence in those around you. You can encourage others to raise the bar on their own standards. Strive to make a difference in whatever situation you are committed to whether through outstanding teaching, school, charitable work, parenting, the arts, or the business world. Inspire and teach others to have hope, whether through your words or messages, or by quiet example. Call on the adversity you have risen above or the difficult feats you have bravely achieved to accomplish wonderful things with your life. Your diligence and optimistic outlook is what helped you reach and exceed your goals. Others are empowered by your exemplary life, and the legacy continues.
You can also leave a legacy of encouragement.
Be someone who encourages and stands behind others cheering them on. Know how to treat people with respect. Make others feel special. Be generous with praise and gentle with criticism. Lend a helpful hand to those who are giving their best effort but may still be struggling. Be considerate of the well-being of others. Offer help to those who are striving to reach their goals. Parents, spouses, friends, teachers, and coworkers have the greatest opportunities to leave legacies of encouragement.
Leaving a legacy does not require financial wealth or notoriety. There are many unsung heroes walking or who have walked this Earth. Each of us plays an essential part in the overall puzzle of life. All our lives have meaning, influence, and purpose. Each of us has something remarkable to pass on to our descendants and to the world.
Living your life with a positive attitude, hopeful outlook, honorable value system, and clear conviction will create a legacy that others will remember long after you are gone.

Living the Legacy You Hope To Leave Behind Part Two

A life lived virtuously and consciously ripples and reverberates eternal. That is the legacy of unsung heroes.
That is one of the legacies I hope to leave behind and try to live every aspect of my life with that goal in mind. There is a part of me, the ego part I suppose, that wants to see the difference I am making. I also know that there is so much I cannot see that profoundly affects my life, the lives of others, the universe, and the spiritual world. I don't necessarily have to see the total impact my life is making to know that I am making one.
Those of us who have children will certainly leave a legacy for them. If we love our children, the legacy we leave should be a positive one.
My goal in raising my children was to break the dysfunctional patterns of my heritage, the problematic legacy that had been left for me. It took most of my life to break the debilitating cycle I inherited but through tenacity I succeeded. I got professional help for myself and made conscious choices in raising my children. I refused to subject them to a life of emotional uphill climbing; to emotionally saddle them with the problems of my past.
They have been fortunate to not have to back-pedal through life as I did. They are both living wonderful, successful, progressive, and happy lives. They are making healthy choices. That is the legacy I will leave them and the generations that come after them. If I accomplish nothing else in life, I will leave this Earth fulfilled.
Everyone has a different perspective so not everyone will see things from my point of view. My perspective works for me and I hope to inspire others with it. But there are many ways that we can impact the future and leave our mark on it, many ways we can leave a legacy that will stand the test of time.
Step outside of yourself for a minute and view yourself from the outside looking in. How do others see you? Evaluate your morals, values, and beliefs. Would you be proud for others to follow in your footsteps? Assess what areas you can improve on and then take action immediately.
As long as you live and breathe you can change what is not working in your life. The problem is we never know when we will stop living and breathing. That is why we should never hesitate to make positive changes as soon as we realize they need to be made.
A legacy is a reflection of your uniqueness and self-expression. What personality traits or innate gifts do you possess that seem to have the most impact on others? Is it your morals and character, your generous heart, your ability to inspire others, or your peaceful nature? Is it your talents, your sense of humor, your idiosyncrasies, or your intellect?
Now think about the interests and issues that arouse your enthusiasm. Do you want to make a difference in causes such as child abuse, animal abuse, homelessness, health issues, or better education for our children? Are you civic-minded and strive for changes in your community or country? Are you passionate about making global changes such as world peace, saving the environment, world hunger, or stopping the spread of disease?
Next think about the largess of your impact. Do you want to leave a legacy for your children and grandchildren? Will you be happy with a legacy that stays within the family tree for generations to come? Would you like to make a difference in someone's life through vehicles such as adoption, foster care, or volunteering? Do you want to impact the survivors of a cause? Are you hoping to be famous? Do you want to leave your indelible mark on mankind?
Once you have narrowed down the area or areas you would like to focus on you may need a plan to help you implement it. Your plan should include short-term and long-term strategies. Be flexible and understand that you cannot achieve everything at once. Life is a series of processes. Life is continuously unfolding. Everything shifts and changes over time. Your reality today may not be your reality tomorrow, next month, or next year.
Evaluate where you are now in your life and then think about the direction you want your legacy to take you. How will you implement moving towards your goal? Perhaps you have gifts that you have not shared with others and would like to; assets you believe others would benefit from. Maybe you have regrets about something you have done to someone in the past and have not yet made amends for, but hope to. Maybe you have been longing to document your life in a journal or write a book.
Planning the legacy you want to leave for the generations who follow after you is a loving act. None of us will live forever but we should all leave behind a positive part of us that will.
How are you living your life currently? Start planning the direction you want your legacy to take you and begin moving towards your goal.
