Advance Your Career by Making an Internal Transfer

In difficult economic times, an internal transfer can provide many of the advantages of a new position without the risks of looking for a completely new job.
Consider these reasons for making an in-house move and strategies for accomplishing a successful transition.
Benefits of Making an Internal Transfer
1.     Learn new skills. Assuming a new role in your company gives you an opportunity to branch out. If you've been crunching numbers for the past few years, now is the time to master writing proposals.
2.     Expand your network. Changing departments will help to raise your visibility. Interacting with another team enables you to form new alliances while maintaining access to your old coworkers.
3.     Increase your job security. Many companies value a well-rounded employee. Seeing the business from multiple perspectives gives you an advantage in understanding how all the parts work together.
4.     Hold onto your benefits. If you've been in your current job for a while, you may have built up valuable benefits like extra vacation time. You may also like the idea of keeping your current health insurance and sticking with the same doctors.
5.     Feel more motivated. It's easy to get stale when you've been doing the same thing year after year. Enjoy the excitement of mixing things up.
6.     Take on new challenges. Whether your new position is a promotion or lateral move, it's a chance to test your abilities and grow.
7.     Minimize stress. In house options can be a pleasant blend of familiarity and change. You get to make a fresh start without the upheaval that goes along with starting over with a brand new company.
Strategies for Making Your Internal Transfer Successful
1.     Consider the whole picture. It's always nice to get a raise. It may be even more important to assess any transfer in terms of how it will advance your career in the long run and add to your job satisfaction. Evaluate all the factors involved.
2.     Make an impact. Get to know the priorities of your new supervisor and the culture of the unit. Hit the ground running by making contributions that will get noticed and demonstrate your worth.
3.     Get to know your new colleagues. Our relationships with our coworkers play a big part in whether we enjoy our work. Invite people out to lunch. Volunteer for assignments that enable you to work side by side with people you can learn from.
4.     Preserve old ties. If you've grown close to the people in your department, it's reassuring to know that you're sticking close to home. You can still get together to socialize and see each other around the office.
5.     Facilitate a smooth transition. Prepare a written report on your outstanding projects so your successor knows where to pick up. Make yourself available for any questions they may have.
6.     Address any discipline issues. While lateral moves can be a very good thing, they're sometimes viewed with caution because of cases where they cover up issues by transferring an employee rather than dealing directly with conflicts or deficiencies. Be honest with yourself and welcome feedback about areas where you need to improve.
7.     Reevaluate your goals. Whenever you shake up your routine, it can be a good opportunity to review all aspects of your life. You may decide you also want to take some adult education classes or exercise more.
When you're reluctant to switch employers, you can advance your career through an internal transfer. Look for opportunities in your current workplace and get off to great start in your new role with these tips.

Figuring Out Life Purpose Through Subliminal Audios

It can be confusing and startling for people to live life and later find out that they are not quite aligned to their true life purpose.
This is about making life feel full of meaning and personal discovery, and for far too many people understanding their personal life purpose is just far too confusing and out of reach.
We tend to figure this out through very small but significant moments where events and ideas line up and we suddenly know what we have to do in this life.
It's not a small thing in general for our minds and internal emotions to be so far off track sometimes that we just feel unhinged and almost without any meaning whatsoever.
People have to self reflect and explore their minds and emotions far deeper, and this is not something that can be easily done without a bit of serious introspection. The people who do not like to think about the past and reflect on what that means for their current reality and their futures just need to take a huge step back away from everything.
This life gets a lot tougher and rougher if you accidentally decide that you want to stay confused and unaware, and there is a hefty price for staying idle and very ignorant which is why the personal development community is so active.
We have to understand what it means to be human in our own ways, and even accidentally discovering life purpose can be a very powerful moment and series of very powerful understanding that brings us to the next level.
Our lives cannot easily be out of tune with what we are meant to do on this planet and it makes a difference to be consciously awake and aware of what's going on in a way that forces our lives to be different.
Subliminals can help shift and change everything for the better, but we all still need to be aware that though this is a passive tool that can help change our minds forever we also need to be moving and acting in a way that roughly aligns with who we are.
Defying our life paths brings us into disharmony and situations that literally force us to wake up in very rough and sometimes hideous ways that leave us very shaken and we have to avoid negative situations like that.
By consistently listening to subliminal audios on a consistent basis we can only get better over time as our thoughts and minds align very quickly with where we need to be.

A Dream That Will Never Come True

I spent an ungodly amount of my early childhood and teenage years dreaming about becoming a medical doctor. I got hooked early on thinking about it throughout the days and months when I was watching one of the top television serials of the time: Lifeline on Doordarshan. This was late nineteen-eighties.
That wonderful TV series, to a great extent, has changed the way I was thinking about myself as a person and what I should be doing to pursue something useful in life that goes all the way, in peace, to the retirement age, so to speak. Dreaming part is one thing but to have everything as per your dream - the practicality of it: regardless of whether it will work out as expected - is quite another.
As things stand now, I think I have a fairly good idea why I didn't progress toward becoming what I had originally wanted to and I keep criticizing myself about it every day. Nevertheless, this hard fact of life had lain to rest a lot of angsty, emotional stuff that had once taken deep roots inside me to a clear resolution of sorts as I seem to have understood fully well that my dream will never come true, ever.
Despite that, something somehow remains, in trace quantities perhaps; and I am okay that while the reality was setting in, I wound up soothed from the weight of the unrequited dream even as I have discovered another dream en route to my adulthood. That's why this opinion piece.
Hope, Wish, Fantasy...
Studying medical science perchance was not in my destiny's good books, not a chance. Therefore, the story, so far as I could tell, would have dead-ended right at that point had it not been for the good, old-fashioned existential angst conjoined to the sentiment of my unrealized dream still wanting to keep me haunted like a boogeyman to this day and age. Now that the old dream had invariably turned into a cold distant memory of the past - all that remains now is a bittersweet aftertaste of it, however. Save for the feeling of butterflies in my stomach is still fresh.
Right Ho, Jeeves, but look at me, not even a typical tie-clad medical rep have I moved toward becoming! And I know how much this thing from way back has cost me personally.
As it happened, I shrank away from realizing my dream of getting into a med school after passing out from senior high (located on one of the most beautiful yet isolated outback regions of India's Air Force Stations). Why? Because, first off, I didn't want to be in step by impatient step with the exhausting uprising of my school babalog's predictably boring professional aspirations deserving nothing but the Zenith that'll ensure a bright future and all, and, second off, what got my goat was actually their guffawing chutzpah about other peoples' non-engineering, non-medical aspirations deserving the Nadir that'll guarantee a cup of tea at the most!
Little did they know that they were treating their career-making goals as mere future investments to make a lot of money and, perhaps, to pay for a luxurious lifestyle? In contrast, my philosophy of life was, thankfully, not as stereotypical and sensation-seeking as theirs. I was more or less an acquiescent, persuadable, and an amenable smiling young teenager who is also a delighted risk-taker. While they were playing it safe by choosing a "respected" and a "tried and tested" calling like engineering, I looked the other way gratefully uninterested. Even after all their bragging, I don't blame them for their, well, attitudinal problems towards next-gen non-conventional streams that were gradually coming into vogue. They did what they had a craving for doing: pursuing studies of their "choice," that is. On the other hand, I did what I had a craving for doing: inhabiting a world where there are fewer Engineers but quality ones, that is. I sound surly but that's an inescapable reality, you know.
Understandably, their fantasy of becoming an Engineer, no doubt, were coming true and goals too were getting accomplished and why the hellfire not? When you know the job of how to make that final push to get over the line, success is yours. Surprisingly, even the buck-toothed chap I used to know once upon a time from my plus-two (senior high) school days did well for himself. Being a Bucky - this guy looked like a poor man's Freddie Mercury, not of the Balsara stock but of the Sribathtub from the dusty hinterlands of 'BIMARU states' - was no hindrance for this gigantic long-limbed Goliath to win his khetibaadi(agribusiness) battles, apparently! But, regrettably, most of these ill-tempered school blokes of which this Bucky was, sort of, an inseparable gang member, all zealously milk-toothed they were, aspired either for 'Engineering' or 'Medical' degree or nothing as if no other career option ever existed in the pecking order! (What about trees, birds, woods, water, and Antarctic ice when we talk about human fools impacting our planet Earth?) Go figure.
As for me, well, the least said the better because, you know, I had to blink and squint and miss the bus of possible opportunities of making to a medical school; yes, I still despised doing any of the oversaturated streams of the cuckolding engineering degree. Hence, neither did I become a doctor of humans nor of animals nor even of plants nor fowls.
I, as though of some kind of contraband hemlock I had drunk, however, could merely manage and fumble to become a lifelong student of my first-loves: zoology and biology, without professionally becoming a Biologist or a Botanist or a Zoologist that is! How senseless of me. I know, I know, that's life. But software engineering came much later.
By the way, talking about Bio- and Zoology, it is definitely conciliatory to know that the world is ours and where we come from, but definitely not so when you realize where we are going to go and where we are going instead. With all the Earth's climatic change, global warming, rising temperatures, and animal and plant species extinction we see and hear but do nothing about, we, beyond any doubt, are going nowhere clean but straight to an unhygienic HELL to burn! However, that's a different sorry-ass story of mankind's need and greed we better not lecture about because it doesn't go down well with anyone, barely ever did I think, least of all greedy Engineers, to resolutely do something to save our planet, our only home.
With a withering mother Earth, how could I become an Engineer? What will I engineer? In my humble viewpoint, I'd say Earth doesn't need any Engineer, it needs Biology. Migrate to Mars, O plundering Engineers of the world; that Red Planet most likely needs Engineers more than our Earth does! Go away there.
How about getting back to the point, on our beloved planet Earth? Here we go...
While it is still a great thing for me to appreciate that terse "Ignorance is Bliss" proverb cannot (no longer, nope!) be used on me, I insist that it was not due to some ignorance concern that I did not pursue my dream of becoming a medical doctor. I had a fairly good arsenal of ambitions no doubt - and I credit none but my parents with instilling it in me, I think it was rather the scare of rigour (ragrapattiin Hindi) and the scary thought of grossing out my friends that this humble mimosa pudica (shy plant) of a person wouldn't really be keen on, compared to others who grossed out each other (with pleasure!) for catching the infectious disease of success and achievement and put our planet on a perilous path of destruction. (That is just a perspective, nothing else).
I think this kind of willful bad behaviour of grossing out friends to study your lessons inflicts too much of an irreparable damage on everyone. I for one could never tolerate or live with such a thing, and so I swiftly moved away from these foolish chaps and their scheme of things which surely will stand to fall afoul of what I term the principle of great unconditional friendship. Added to that laconic problem is the fact that the rat race doesn't ever stop at the med school, it never stops there; it begins and ends never! Now, that was really too much for the scuttling teenager in me to handle.
Still, how can one just be ignorant of one's own beloved dream of becoming a medical doctor never getting fulfilled? One cannot simply be as ignorant as not being able to realize one's competence levels and long-term commitment constraints before proceeding any further on fulfilling the dream. So kindly don't patch the term ignorance on me just to make yourself feel good. Oh gosh, that would be demeaning, a taboo I fear so so much to bring it upon me.
Having felt all that I've felt up till now, I can sincerely say that for some people Life cannot always be neat and tidy so that you've everything sorted at the end. I still like saying that I look to the Past to live fairly well in the Present but, having said that, I don't necessarily have to look to the Future, do I? What is there in the future? Mars? That Red Planet? Oh come on, Humankind, don't give me that science fiction poo again!
I'll leave it at that. Too complicated to go in there. Phew!
Studying medicine perchance was not in my fate. So the story, so far as I could tell, would have dead-ended right there had it not been for the great, antiquated existential crisis attached to the sentiment of my dream still, in this day and age, wants to haunt me like a boogeyman.

Shifting Reality To Create The Ideal Life Using Subliminal Audios

Changing your world and life to reflect deep and resonating change is a very deeply spiritual exercise that many people want to do.
The key here is that we are using subliminals to change our mental lives and worlds for the better and it all gets drastically different as we keep listening.
Most people think of prosperity and success when they think about subliminals but that is not the only use for them and many people have used them successfully to bring their minds into greater clarity and their lives into a stronger foundation.
This is a big move for a lot of people and the only hurdle here that most people tend to experience is not being willing to listen for a few hours a day.
That cannot be the thing that holds us back from experiencing deep and life changing moments of very intense understanding and a very differently powerful life.
Several aspects of your life will change and flip into something entirely different while listening to strong enough subliminals and that is a basic fact of how the audios work in general.
Once you amplify your energy to the point that your mind and life suddenly align many things in your life will suddenly make sense and you won't have as many severe and obvious problems as before.
As long as you hear the subliminals your brain and mind are forced to change and you will experience great perceptual shifts that can only bring your brain, mind and life to a much higher level of operation.
This also dives into the idea that we can consciously change and alter our worlds and realities on a daily basis by simply listening to charged up nature and water sounds for several hours a day.
We have to embody and embrace the idea that real and serious change is possible even if we are just listening to subliminals on a consistent basis as part of a long term routine.
The idea of literally changing your reality by reprogramming your mind and brain has to be a long term accepted idea that can bring our realities to a much higher and more rewarding level.
If we hold back and continue living the same life without subliminals things might not change the way that we desire and nothing might feel or be alright.
Using subliminal audios consistently long term can help bring us to that higher level that we have always desired, but we have to be the ones that act first and listen until our lives start reflecting that very deep and immense change.

Attracting The Perfect Life With Subliminal Audios

Developing your personal energy to the point that you can easily and quickly attract whatever you want at will requires some very particular effort.
Some say that you have to meditate for several hours a day consistently in order to achieve a very deep state of balance that enables you to get whatever it is that you desire in life.
That isn't too far away from creating deep and lasting change in your life, because if you can master your emotions and thoughts then you are far more likely to be able to attract in ideal objects, ideas and whatever else it is that you desire and need.
Meditation can be time consuming and take far too long to be truly effective though, so we have to rely on a far more convenient and simplified solution that can help change our minds and lives long term without a lot of effort.
Subliminals can easily and quickly change your mind and brain in a very small amount of time thereby allowing you to create and attract whatever it is that you need to develop a better life.
That is the inherent power of using subliminals long term and it is not inconvenient to listen for several hours a day because the consistent use of the audios as often as possible can help to make your life incalculably better over time.
This is a very basic and intensive method of brain reprogramming where you can almost consciously release from anything that holds you back as you listen to the audios more.
Once your mind and brain are shifted to take on the changes that it produces, it can be just a few weeks and months before you fully realize a new and more idealized life in general.
We are not talking about creating miracles directly here, but the changes that the audios can produce can be nearly miraculous and that is no exaggeration considering that deep life change can feel impossibly positive.
Too many people vaguely speak of wanting big and drastic life change but this is about changing your mind and life for the better immediately and leaving the past behind.
It is clear that subliminal audios can bring us to a much higher level of mental and physical functioning in our lives, and that is why this new positive habit of listening to the audios more can be one of the most drastic and life changing events that propels you into a new and higher level of personal achievement and positive energy.

How Do I Find My Purpose?

This is probably one of the most commonly asked questions that I get when talking to people. They will usually ask me that question after they have heard me talking about the importance of knowing why you are and how fulfilling your life will become when you find your purpose and begin to pursue it. Who am I? Why am I here? These questions have been asked for centuries. This question can be found in the birth of exploration, it was the spark of many wars and conquest and it has birthed countless philosophies and religions.
How do I find My Purpose? Can You See It?
AL Hollingsworth taught me a very important lesson; if you can't see it, it's very hard to do it. That isn't verbatim but, the concept stays true. It looks something like this: if I asked you to hand me a pooku shmooku, what would you hand me? Exactly! But if I told you that a pooku shmooku was like a pencil, then when I asked you to hand me a pooku shmooku, what would you hand me? Exactly! You would hand me a pencil.
You had to first see what it was before you could take some action. This is very important when you are in the planning/vision part of your process. It amazes me how a potter can take a lump of clay and see the finished product in that lump of clay and begin to pull it out of the lump of clay so to speak; they see it first, and then they begin the process of bringing it into existence. This may appear to be a very simplistic outlook but, it is very applicable. When I said that you have to see it before you can do it could start out as a simple thought or idea.
Any successful endeavor requires the ability to see what it should and will look like; there may be some minor or even major adjustments that take place after the work begins but, there must be a vision first. What do you see? There is one thing that I think is very important to remind yourself as you navigate through this process and that is the fact that it can take some time before you truly find out what your purpose is. Many times the answer is directly in front of you but most people tend to overlook it or ignore it because it is so obvious. From the time I was in the fifth grade you would find me helping out people especially if they were being bullied or the perceived underdog.
Well, I have always been that type of person; even if I felt helpless to do anything about helping someone. Injustice would drive me crazy and I lived a life in my early years as a quiet rebel. I would have so many plans to help people, adults and kids alike; I can remember wanting to stop teachers from being so mean to some of the kids in my classes that seemed to take the brunt of the teacher's wrath. I would often sit in a quiet anger, stewing and steaming as I witnessed injustice happen right in front of me.
I'm sure that many of you who are reading this and nodding your head as you remember whatever it is that was your hot button. If you were to take an objective look at your past, I'm sure you will begin to see certain patterns that may give you a clue as to why you are. I'm sure that there are some people that are reading this blog post and have a pretty good idea of what your purpose is but, you may have never thought of it as your purpose, it's just something that you do naturally.
For me, vision is tied to direction; how can anyone reach their destination, their goal without knowing how to get there? I always say that it's a lot like loading up the SUV and hitting the open road to go somewhere you've never been and you don't have some sort of GPS system or roadmap. You can take a chance on asking some random person on the street and hope they know what they're talking about or you can hope for the best as you head out in the direction that feels right to you, you just know that this is the right way to go. Hmm, that's a little sketch for me.
How do I find My Purpose? Are You Strong Enough?
Okay, so here's the part where I hopefully don't lose some people; this is the part where I use that dreaded four letter word - work! Many people desire to be a change agent; they want to be that person of significance. So, here comes the heavy lifting so to speak; it is extremely difficult to have a vision for your future when you are struggling with your present and if we're going to go there, some of you are stuck in your past. Think about it; here you (your emotions, memories and identity) are stuck in the past as you are trying to get to the future as you flounder in the present.
There are so many times when you tried so hard to move forward but will often find yourself back where you started and you can't figure it out; "why does this keep happening?" The heavy lifting that I was referring to is this; if you want to become unstuck in areas of your life, if you know exactly what your purpose or goals are but you just can't see it, if you are desperate for things to change then there is something that I would like for you to consider. I was told this not too long ago; we construct our life story and our life story could be working against us.
Based on the things that were spoken to us and into us, we begin to develop how life is, due to the things that we witnessed at an early age, because of some of the things that happened to us and how we experienced life as a whole; we then begin to embark on a life that will confirm what we have previously concluded how our life will be. Many people are oblivious to how they tend to repeat the same activities; they tend to have the same thought processes, the same relationship patterns and continue to repeat the same types of behaviors. Why is this? Because this type of living doesn't require any type of change and because there is zero requirements to change the cycle, this "rinse and repeat" cycle has become a safe place to stay.
The interesting thing about this "life cycle" that we're living in can be easily justified; we work hard to defend the things that happen to us and then blame those things on why we remain stuck. So, the question is this; what are you willing to do to allow change to take place in your life?
How do I find My Purpose? Edit Your Story
So much of the story that we constructed about how our life will be is lived in the past. People tend to stay here because it is easier to prove and confirm what we what we predicted our life to be. If we are living in the past, how can we see what's in the future? Because of this vicious cycle many people resign themselves to a fruitless pursuit of trying but, never accomplishing their goal of purpose. We have become so bogged down with settling for compromise that we become satisfied with counterfeits. I gotta tell ya, this is not a fun place to be in and I know from personal experience!
Here's something that I want you to think about, you can break this current "life cycle" if you want to! I'm gonna run this up the flagpole and see if anyone salutes it; would it surprise you to know that you can actually move from living in the past to living in the present? When we choose to live in the now, the present, we find that there are endless possibilities present and available to us because we are present. If we are present in our daily lives, then we have the opportunity to face things that are presently happening to us and around us head on without being afraid of being wrong or failing. When we remain present we see things clearer, we can look at all of the possibilities that at our disposal.
When you are present, you become responsible for your life and the awesome thing about that truth is this; once you start becoming responsible for your live and learn how to operate without those previous restrictions from your past, you can see something really good. You can see that you can start to rewrite our live story, yep! You can create a new life story and begin to live out your life in a way that proves and confirms what you predict your new life will be! I teach many people how to reconstruct their life story and then I get to see them accomplish things that they never thought they would be able to do. Once you are able to see clearer, you are able to get a better understanding of why you are and not what your past told you.
Once you are able to see clearer, you become aware of those things that lay hidden in that life of the past; when you are able to see all of the possibilities that are available you, you become aware of all those things that have been speaking to the question that used to elude you time and time again. And that question is "why am I here?" "What am I supposed to be doing?" You find your purpose when you stop living in the past as you try to get to a future that you always wanted but could never see. When you choose to stay in the present and take responsibility for your life, you are able to become that change agent that we so desperately need. It takes some determined editing on your part but you can do it.
Disappointment, discouragement and distractions can cause us to feel stuck in life and we often lose sight of our hopes, dreams, purpose and goals. It is never too late to make a course correction in your life. For more information, please visit http://dreamagainrestorativeprograms.org/

The Astrological Connection Of The Planets And The Chakra System

From the earliest days of man, they have looked to the skies for answers to all types of physical, spiritual, and emotional concerns. This includes beliefs such as the moon controlling one's inhibitions to Mars in a certain position influencing headaches, and all matters in between. Understanding the connection between the planets and the chakra system can be beneficial to healing with astrology.
Every living creature is composed of life force energies that influence all aspects of one's life. The universe puts out energy of its own which changes as the Earth continues about its rotational orbit. As each celestial body enters the visible sky, their power can have an effect on how a person feels physically and psychologically.
Within the human body are seven primary centers of energy called chakras. Each one of which corresponds to a different element, emotion set, physical attributes, endocrine system, spirituality aspect, and celestial mass. They are each located on a separate plexus, or convergence point for a specific neural network, and keeping them in balance is crucial to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
In the practice of astrology, they way in which a particular planet or other celestial body influences a specific individual is based on their unique natal chart. This is a record of where all the stars, moons and planets were positioned at the time and date of their birth. Astrological experts can read these and ascertain the impact they have on that person's life, health, and well being.
When one or more planetary element is lacking strength in a person's current horoscope, they may experience corresponding health concerns. The astrologer understands that there are ways to counteract that type of influence and will advise their client accordingly. For instance, it may be suggested that the individual try concentrating a meditation on its correlating plexus to raise the vibrations and bring it back into balance.
If this malady is appearing in one of the three plexuses in the lower sector, the meditation should instead be focused on the one in the corresponding position in the upper triad. This means that if the problem is with the Base, one should concentrate on the Heart. The Sacral convergence goes with the Throat, and the Lumbar with the plexus at the Third Eye.
Another method that an astrological healer may employ to assist a client who has a weakened plexus is the use of crystals and gemstones to bring harmonious balance back to one's life force energies. These stones can be used to direct positive energy directly through the target convergence to raise or lower vibration as required. This can be done in many ways, including meditative concentration, wearing it in jewellery that rests near the area, or simply carrying it in one's pocket.
The specific influences for each person is going to be unique and as such, their approaches for restoring balance are going to be equally as individualized. A highly skilled astrologer will be able to formulate an individual's birth chart, as well as a current horoscope, to identify the root of their issue and device a plan to restore harmony to one's body. Being attuned means all systems are working together as intended to bring the most physical, emotional, and spiritual health benefits.

Where You Are Meant To Be

Life has many challenges. People go through life facing all kinds of trials and hardships along with, hopefully, a good dose of the better things of life. When you get to the twilight years and the end is more near than far, you may realize that you are not where you wanted to be at the age where you now find yourself. Are you where you are meant to be? That is a question which faces people, but maybe they are exactly where they are meant to be at this point in their life.
Life may have tossed you some lemons along the way. You may not have gotten to the financial state that you expected to be in at the stage of life in which you arrived. You may think that life has not been fair. Well, life is not fair. Into every life some rain will fall. Sometimes downpours will come.
Difficulties, hardship, and challenges may slow us down from reaching our goals. They may take out some of the steam in moving forward. However, trials can make us stronger and give life purpose. They may help the resolve to achieve and succeed. Trials may help in preparing us for the next adventure in life. Overcoming trials may seem difficult, but in the long run will add to the strength of a person.
Believe in yourself and the fact that you are strong. You have done a lot in your life even if you feel that the accomplishments are not great. You have lived through many trials and have come out stronger.
Life will not always be a bowl of cherries, but there will be many good aspects of life. There will be happy times and joy in living. The opposite might also be true.
Instead of lamenting the fact that you may not be where you wanted to be, just continue to grow and progress. You may be where you were meant to be in life. You also may have a long way yet to go. There is no reason to ever give up even through the difficult times. Keep the hope and faith strong to continue the quest.
Americans of Japanese descent were not where they wanted to be during World War II when they were incarcerated in the American concentration camps in desolate areas of the United States. They were not meant to be locked up and watched over by armed guards. They had done no wrong and were persecuted only for their ethnicity. The trials were too great for some to endure. However, most people persevered and kept the faith that things would get better. When they were finally released after their years in captivity, they moved on and worked hard so that they could achieve their dreams of where they were meant to be. It was not easy, but it was worth it to keep trying.
Trials come to everyone. Learn about the trials which came to Japanese Americans by checking out this book of speeches and articles about the Japanese American and Asian American story. It includes facts about the mistreatment of Japanese Americans during World War II and how they persevered during difficult times. This was a period when the Constitution did not protect innocent citizens and immigrants who faced severe prejudice and racism. The book covers civil rights issues and is available on Amazon. The Only Way Out Of Judgement Is Through The Power Of Gratitude

Judgement And Gratitude Are Opposing Forces
Did you know that judgement impairs our ability to identify what is really taking place in a situation? We may not have the full details and are likely to judge something based on limited information. We tend to distance ourselves through our judgements and become disillusioned with what we find. For example, it is easier to judge another person than to know them on a deeper level. This is because it requires a commitment to invest ourselves and we might be disappointed if the other person does not reciprocate. Therefore, judgement keeps us safe because we transfer our feelings of fear, shame and guilt onto others to make ourselves feel better. This comes at a cost of alienating ourselves instead of building stronger connections.
The way out of judgement is through the power of gratitude, which helps us see things through a different lens. Gratitude opens the door to our hearts and helps us consider things from a different perspective. It softens us in places where we were rigid. A heart filled with gratitude is unlike a heart filled with judgement, fear and anger. In fact, the heart does not harbour these emotions as much as the mind does through its ego attachment. Consequently, judgement and gratitude are opposing forces. One is the realm of the ego and the other is expressed through authentic goodness and compassion. Have you experienced something similar in your own life? Perhaps you judged another person wrongly and realised later there was more to the person than meets the eye? It is common to react this way and psychologist say it is attributed to an evolutionary role within our brains that screens for negativity.
Be More Tolerant And Grateful Of Others
But how can we overcome our judgement to perceive things more clearly? Surely, judgement hinders our experience of life? The key to recognising our judgement lies in being mindful of our thoughts. I often tell coaching clients when they notice themselves judging, to stop and ask a simple question: "What am I not seeing in this situation?" This helps us notice where we are blinded by our bias and unable to see the truth. It is my experience that judgement occurs mainly in our interaction with people. We are unaware of other people's motives and agendas because we bring our own distorted thinking to the process. Most times, we prefer to be right than wrong, even if it means upholding erroneous thoughts.
This was evident with the disgraced seven time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong who convinced himself and others he did not cheat. He went to great lengths to dismiss his use of illegal performance-enhancing substances. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, he said that his lies were so convincing they eventually become truth. This example shows the complexity of human beings where a lie can be believed with such conviction that it becomes our truth. But as you know, upholding a lie is harder than speaking the truth. In contrast, the power of gratitude allows us to shift our attention to the truth, even if it means our feelings will be hurt. Gratitude helps us become aware of opportunities, even if we have to look hard, there is always something to appreciate. Gratitude flips the switch from fear and judgement to compassion and understanding. It is the bridge whereupon friendships and tolerance is born.
To cross the bridge from judgement to gratitude requires openness and awareness. The openness to trust we don't completely understand what is taking place. The awareness that we are judging something to appease ourselves or minimise another's self-worth. Through an expanded awareness, we recognise our habituated thoughts patterns and are able to break the cycle. We move from the egoic need to judge something or someone and into our hearts where all possibilities exist. We learn to be more tolerant and grateful of others instead of believing in a fabricated lie. The more we understand something, the more tolerant we become of ourselves and others. Tolerance leads to forgiveness and empathy which are the seeds of soulful living.
With that in mind, I'd like you to consider a current situation in which you have judged something or someone unfairly. How could you see things differently and appreciate what is taking place behind the scenes? What action could you take to come from a place of gratitude and compassion instead of judgement and fear? Sometimes, the smallest action requires making eye contact with another person. Notice the difference in your body and how you feel when you move into your heart instead of your head? It is only when we let go of judgement that the power of gratitude opens the door to our heart and brings the awareness to see things exactly as they are.

6 Ways To Become A Better Listener

The first way to become a better listener is to listen to learn - don't listen to be polite. Listen from a place of curiosity about generosity. In fact, learn about the person talking and less time listening to think of an opportunity to speak. Truly understand first. True dialogue doesn't happen when we pretend to listen and it certainly can't happen if we're not listening at all and only preparing to speak. If you ever finished a conversation and learned nothing surprising you truly weren't listening in the first place.
The second point is that of quieting your own agenda. To really listen to somebody else is trying to say we need information that is dis-confirming to our own agenda not confirming it. We need to think about what the other person is saying so that we can better understand what it is they're trying to present not looking for other things that they're saying that we confirm our own agenda.
We can do this by asking more questions. The more questions we ask the more answers we can receive. When you put yourself in this place you take yourself out of authority in the situation and created a situation where they're the ones that are in control. When you ask questions, you create a safe space for other people to give you an unvarnished truth.
Another things you will want to focus on is your talk versus you're listening ratio. Pay attention to your talk/listening ratio. Strive for a 2:1 ratio of listening/ talking. If you can talk for a minute then listen for two minutes. This allows the other person to know how important they are to you. This will in return also allow you to better understand their heart in the situation.
An easy way to do this is repeat what you've heard. This is also called active listening. Repeat back to the speaker exactly what you heard. You can do it identical to what they just said, but then you sound like a silly parrot.
If I were to say, "The other day I went and I talked to Mary about grocery shopping list. She told me what she was going to get."
A way to actively listen...
"So you're telling me that Mary told you what she was picking up at the grocery store yesterday when you talk to her?"
It's good if the speaker agrees with what you heard. Then she/he feels validated that you are listening and you can move forward in the conversation. If not, the speaker would need to reitterate what their statement to the listener really was.
Another key thing is that most people do not to wait until the other person is done talking. We live in a culture and society here in America in which we always talk over one another in such a way nobody actually finishes a full thought or sentence. Therefore, there is no clear communication. Actually wait until someone is done talking before you choose to respond to them. The most difficult aspect of listening effectively is waiting for the end of a sentence before formulating a reply.
If you work on these few six steps of becoming a better listener you will see a massive improvement in communication skills that you have with family, friends, and co-workers.
As an author and speaker, Chad Nedland ministers as God leads. Teaching of the fullness of a life with God and edifying the body of Christ is his life's definite purpose.
His greatest passion is encouraging and challenging other believers to walk in the fullness of their calling and identity in Christ. His goal is to never have a conversation or interaction with someone that does not change something within them, drawing them closer to God.

Do You Really Believe a Workshop Will Change Your Life?

The problem:
One of my clients called me a couple of days ago to discuss a case he is working on. A company whose employees suffer from a certain type of fear at work wanted his help to solve the issue. That fear freezes them at times and makes it impossible for them to react properly with some clients. The managers are obviously desperate to find some kind of tool that can help their workforce conquer that limitation, as it's proving economically stressful and heavy on their results. They've already worked with a big amount of coaches and mentors to no avail. The employees learn the tools but still feel paralyzed when the moment to act is there.
I encounter this situation in many cases and companies. They hire professionals, expecting change to happen, but it doesn't materialize. The issues are clearly defined and the concepts and approaches seem perfect but no real transformation remains after a short time. This is not only happening in organizations, though. A similar result is observed with the millions of people who try to change their outlook on life and the way they interact with the world by following courses and attending seminars and workshops. They leave those events with a very clear idea of what doesn't work in their lives and with the impression that their new understanding of reality empowers them. Unfortunately, some time later most of them find themselves repeating the same old patterns and facing the same old stories. Only a very small few experience real long-lasting change. So, what is not working in all the other cases? Is it that those professionals are mere charlatans selling smoke? Not necessarily. I have another explanation for this.
The situation:
Most professionals offer you some insights, tools or working sheets to use with the hope that you'll be inspired and that such inspiration will miraculously lead you to changing your engrained behaviors and reactions. The idea behind this is that the new understanding will move you so deeply that your habits will suddenly shift and change for ever. Sorry, things just don't usually work that way! It took you years to acquire those reactions and procedures. They slowly became part of your worldview and of your natural reactions. They will need much more than just inspiration and "aha" moments to become established and spontaneous. Sad to say, that is the part often neglected by many professionals. They sell you the ingredients and maybe even share the recipe with you, but then they leave you to bake the cake alone.
The explanation:
Behavior, both spontaneous and calculated, is the result of our beliefs. Human beings act and decide based on what they believe. Subconscious beliefs lead to spontaneous reactions, whereas conscious ones result in controlled responses. What most professionals usually offer their clients is strategies to work at the conscious level. The tools and strategies they apply mainly attempt to change the reaction to certain stimuli, instead of dealing with their underlying causes. Their clients cognitively understand the process of their thoughts and create alternative interpretations or connections to bypass the old ones. Then some work is done with the new tools during the workshop or event and the professional is gone. This explains why the change doesn't last, no matter how clearly the subjects understand the mechanism. Except for some very rare exceptions, whatever took so long to be established cannot be altered in just a few inspirational moments. It's like offering a person a painkiller for an ailment; the pain might momentarily go away but the real cause of the problem will not be resolved.
Explained in very simple terms, one could say that human beliefs follow one of two paths to become established in the brain: repetition or emotion. Something happens. The person tries to make sense of it by using all previous knowledge stored in their memory. They thus deduct some kind of interpretation for the situation they are encountering. If that interpretation is confirmed enough times, it turns into a belief. The more times it is reaffirmed, the more firmly is becomes established in the brain.
The second path, the emotion one, is also quite easy to explain. Something happens and the person feels something deeply, good or bad, but strong. If that emotion is deep enough, it might shake the person's current belief and open their eyes to a possible new interpretation and the establishment of new beliefs. A good example of this is near-death experiences, accidents and the like. When the person feels the strong emotion, new beliefs might be set.
When a belief is established following both paths, it becomes much more firmly etched in the human brain. Furthermore, as time goes by and those beliefs become strengthened in time, their origin might be forgotten, turning them into subconscious beliefs that the person is not even aware of.
Changing beliefs, then, is not as easy as just understanding a new interpretation or even choosing to see the world a different way. When the belief is firmly rooted in our brain, it will try and stay there because that is what brains do; they preserve our beliefs to safeguard our stability. Let's not forget that actions and reactions are based on belief so, unless the inspiration is accompanied by a very strong emotion or repeated enough times to overwrite the old interpretation, nothing will truly change.
The solution:
Understanding and helping human beings is not as simple as offering them pill-like solutions. If transformation is needed, a deep understanding of human beings is required to really target the problem, create the right solution and implement it in a solid, effective way. Habits are hard to break and they will remain active unless the right approach is used to uproot and replace them.
My client will now offer that company and well-grounded project to help their employees reach the desired goals. Only complete processes will reach the outcome the company wants, so that will also be included in the proposal.
Next time you seek professional help for something like this, make sure that the solution is long-lasting.
Enjoy life... ALL of it,
